Luke Combs has released a new single, I Ain’t No Cowboy, as he continues building anticipation for his forthcoming album The Way I Am, set for release this Friday, March 20th.

I Ain’t No Cowboy was written by Combs alongside Cody Johnson and songwriter Jake Mears. The heartfelt track centers on a man wishing he could be the kind of cowboy hero who sweeps a woman off her feet and convinces her to stay.  According to Combs, the idea for the song came together unexpectedly while he and Johnson were touring in Australia. “We were on tour in Australia with Cody Johnson and had planned to get together while we were there. I had this cowboy idea for a song, and ironically, he’d started writing something really similar that same day. We ended up finding time to write and finished ‘I Ain’t No Cowboy’ with his guitar player Jake Mears, and I even got to play it at one of the shows Down Under. The fans really seemed to love it, so I’m excited they get to hear it a week before the full album comes out.”

To accompany the release, Combs also shared a studio performance video of the song; check it out: HERE.

I Ain’t No Cowboy is the latest preview of Combs’ upcoming album The Way I Am, which was produced by Combs, Singleton and Chip Matthews.  The album includes previous releases “My Kinda Saturday Night,” “Days Like These,” “15 Minutes,” “Be By You,” “Giving Her Away” and “Back in the Saddle,” and “Sleepless in a Hotel Room.”

Also featured on the new album is a collaboration with bluegrass icon Alison Krauss, who will join Combs on the song called “Ever Mine;” co-written by Combs along with singer-songwriter Hailey Whitters and Charlie Worsham.

In support of the new project, Combs will kick off his massive My Kinda Saturday Night Tour this spring with sold-out stadium shows across the U.S., U.K. and Europe, including three nights at London’s Wembley Stadium, two nights at Edinburgh’s Scottish Gas Murrayfield, two nights at Ireland’s Slane Castle, two nights at Green Bay’s Lambeau Field and stops at South Bend’s Notre Dame Stadium, Knoxville’s Neyland Stadium, Columbus’ Ohio Stadium, Paris’ Accor Arena, Sweden’s Ullevi, and more.
